A few months ago I wrote a post about my attempt to go paperless. It is still going really well, I take registers, record assessments, record notes and many other tasks. In my quest to go paperless I even managed to persuade my head of department that the exam boards would not require us to keep paper copies of btec assignments for 3 years and that electronic copies would be fine until a time comes that they want to see them, when we can them print them off.
Using MS word I started marking my assignments adding comments where appropriate. These were then sent back to the students for re-working. All seemed to be going well until I couldn’t access the files from home and therefore couldn’t mark any work.
Then I started to wonder if I could insert comments with any of the apps on the iPad and low and behold quickoffice HD pro came to my rescue. It does exactly the same as MS word and the formatting is compatible so I can send it straight back to the kids to be reworked.

This has made me more mobile and free of the computer chains! I am slowly becoming paperless!
